The Business Sector Advocacy Challenge (BUSAC) Fund won a “Special Award” at the maiden edition of the Ghana Tourism Hall of Fame awards ceremony held on 14th October 2016 in Accra.

The award was given in recognition of the Fund’s unflinching support for the development of the tourism sector in Ghana. The BUSAC Fund was accordingly inducted into the Ghana Tourism Hall of Fame at a colourful ceremony organized by the Ghana Tourism Federation (GHATOF). The BUSAC Fund Manager, Mr. Nicolas J. Gebara was at the event to receive the award on behalf of the Fund.

During a decade of enhancing the advocacy capacity of the Ghanaian private sector, the BUSAC Fund supported GHATOF to advocate the formulation and implementation of a green infrastructure policy to enhance the development of tourism in Ghana. The Fund also supported the Tour Operators Union of Ghana (TOUGHA) to advocate the enforcement of laws on wetlands and the protection of water bodies in Ghana to promote the tourism sector.
