The Business Sector Advocacy Challenge (BUSAC) Fund has, for the third time, won the SME Agency Award at the 2017 edition of the Small and Medium Enterprise Ghana Awards (SMEGA). The award was given in recognition of the BUSAC Fund’s significant interventions that enhanced the advocacy capacity of the Ghanaian Private Sector in the year 2016. 

Organizers of the annual SMEGA awards ceremony honoured the BUSAC Fund for playing a prominent and proactive role in improving the business environment through support for private sector business advocacy, promotion and development of SMEs, as well as providing solutions that enhanced the competitiveness of the Ghanaian private sector.

Dignitaries present at the event include the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Hon. Robert Ahomka-Lindsay; Executive Director of NBSSI, Ms. Kosi A. Yankey and numerous representatives of SMEs nominated for awards at the event. 

The BUSAC Fund team received the award at a colourful ceremony held at the Banquet Hall of the State House on 28th September, 2017. The event was organized by Imagine8 Company Ltd. in partnership with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, with Vodafone Business Solutions as the lead sponsor. The SME Agency Award is bestowed on corporations and institutions such as Statutory Bodies, NGOs, Service providers / facilitators which have contributed significantly to the promotion and development of SMEs and the Ghanaian private sector. 

Within the year 2016 the BUSAC Fund demonstrated its commitment to private sector growth by providing support to business associations to advocate on key business policy issues of national importance.
