Summary of the proposed Action : 1. Need for Action:
In the business of photography in Ghana, there are many practitioners operating outside the Association. These operators are not mainly people who take photographs for personal use or as a hobby, but mostly commercial operators. There is the urgent need to address the problem of scattered commercial practice if the business of photography is to develop in terms of size, technology, service and contribution to the national revenue.

2. Proposed Solution:
Photographers in the commercial category of any size to register with the Association or District Assembly and to encourage public to patronize the services of registered, tax paying operators. The Internal Revenue Service and the District Assemblies to monitor the operations of unregistered commercial photographers.

3. Implementation Plan:
Over a one-year period (12 months):
Committee members will meet to take decisions and undertake activities under the Action. The Service Provider will help with implementing communications strategy for meeting and mobilizing commercial photographers in all the districts.
(a) Consultations with the IRS and the District Assemblies will be made to help monitor the operations of photographers; task force committees will be formed to make surprise inspections.
We will also organize talk shows on radio stations with the view to getting the support of the general public. The Association will take a decision on steps to be taken to get girls to become photographers - the majority of our customers are women and girls.

4. Expected Impact:
fairness in payment of taxes by photographers
taxes paid to the state will increase in amount
enhanced quality of photography service to customers
more women practitioners in photography
