||(a) The need, or the constraint to alleviate
In 2003, the government consolidated all the scattered labour legislations into one labour Law (ACT 651), but this labour Law is very technical and has serious legal implications. There is therefore the need to promote the understanding of this new labour law with its legal implications, minimizing and eliminating, if possible, ignorance among our membership in the Ashanti Region.
(b) The proposed solution to the identified need or constraint your achievement
(a) to promote understanding to the new labour law among the membership in the Ashanti Region by engaging constitutional legal experts.
(b) To visit Ghana employers Association in Accra to study their document used in educating their members.
(c) To create a clearer environment for employers, government and the employed; thought out the eighteen(18) districts in Ashanti Region.
(d) To develop a level playing field for all parties concerned in the implementation of the Act 651.
(c) - the implementation plan to achieve the solution your Action
This will be done in eighteen (18) months; the Regional Council of Labour of TUC will hold meetings and travel to each of the eighteen(18) districts in the Ashanti Region to carry out activities under the Action. We shall use the expertise of the service providers and lawyers who have specialized in constitutional matters. This will involve:
(a) A study of the Labour Law (Act651).
(b) A planned visit to all the eighteen(18) districts to survey what is on the ground and to Ghana employers Association, Accra.
(c) Design a training programme for the District Council of Labour Officers of the TUC.
(d) Embark on the training programme alorting a month to each region.
(e) Leadership development of women representatives at the district level .
(d) - the expected impact(s) of the advocacy Action (i.e. the effects of the result(s) achieved by your Action).
The training programme of the Action will benefit all Chairmen, Secretaries and Women representatives form all local branches of the Union at all workplaces in all the districts of the
region. 1,120 will be trained in all the districts and will benefit form the Action.
