The Thank God Its Friday (TGIF) Show hosted by Kwaku Simtim Misa is a comedy show but has of late transcended into a media platform where various Corporate and Academic institutions use it as a tool to communicate, educate and inform the general public. It is aired from 9:30 to 10:30 pm every Friday.
The BUSAC Fund Manager, Dale Rachmeler (Ph.D.) was interviewed by KSM on his show last week. He provided humour and diversity to the show whilst delivering his message of Business Advocacy in Ghana.
He said the Fund was setup by Danida, USAID and the EU to enhance the capacity of emerging and established business associations, trade unions, business media and farmer based organizations to advocate effectively for change and improvement in the Ghanaian private sector.
The Fund Manager used the platform to inform the business community and general public of the BUSAC Fund’s second call for applications. He reiterate the Fund’s objectives and impact to the Ghanaian Economy since its inception in 2004.
The interview was also used to inform qualified groups and associations to respond positively to the second call for concept notes. The concept note is the first stage of the application process where the interested Private Sector Organisation states its proposed advocacy action and why it is important to remove the bottleneck. The concept notes will be screened, appraised and shortlisted by the BUSAC Fund Management Unit to determine those who will be selected and invited to submit full proposals for consideration.
The call for concept notes started on Monday 4th July and closes on the Friday 29th July 2011.
